Why do you hang a picture of Jesus if he is God?

I have wondered all my life if Jesus is suppossed to be God then why would you hang a picture of him on your living room wall? Is God so simple that you can hang him on the wall? Is he so inferior that you can even know what he looks like?If God is the one that created the heavens and the earth then how could he possibly be hung on the wall? is this not strange to anyone else?
