I'm having a little trouble on an assignment that asks me to say which paint would go where.

The paints I have to choose from are oil based gloss, water based matt emulsion, water based silk vinyl emulsion, acrylic eggshell varnish and polyurethane varnish.

The areas I have to pick for each paint are wooden floorboards, skirting boards, wooden staircase, staircase handrail, ceiling and a wooden side table.

I've chosen the water based matt emulsion for the ceiling, but have no clue about the others!

Can anyone help, please?
