I can't paint over anything and the cabinets are all white too. They also seem to be made of metal. I want to accent it or something. Right now it looks like a plain white sheet of paper, UGH!!!

LOTS of stuff you can do. Strippable wallpaper borders, wall stickers (Do a search for wall stickers...you'll have to weed throught the kids' stuff, but here's one http://www.fermlivingshop.us/stickers/
Most apartments will let you paint if you put it back the way you found it. Maybe just paint the ceiling a pale color to make you smile. As the others said, spot color here and there also. Always have flowers. Even grocery store flowers will make you smile.

In the big hardware stores, such as Home Depot and Lowes...they have wall clings. These have become very popular lately. I have used them myself and they work great, they dont fall down, and they are easy to just wipe clean.
Basically, they are like the window clings you buy on the holidays to stick on a door with the funky characters ....except now...they make them for walls. They make borders like ivy or flowers or some kitchen themed stuff. Go check it out.....just one more option to add to the list.
Also....pay attention to your drawer pulls and knobs. There is a huge variety of these and they are not that expensive. Maybe look into replacing them to make a dramatic statement. ( Just remember to save the old ones so you can replace them when you leave. )

I had the same problem and I decided to use contact paper on the cabinets and some of the wall it looks great and if you make sure the surface is grease free and clean and dry it will last mine has been in place going on 3 years.

Hang up some pretty curtains that will add color to the room. They may help tint the walls, etc. as curtains can do that. Hang some pretty dish towels on your stove handle & then decorate the walls to match your towels. You can check out the many wall hangers that 3M makes that will not strip paint off the walls, & hang up some small kitchen pictures.Hang some decorative magnets on your refrigerator for color also. Adding some throw rugs in the kitchen will break up all that white too. If you add some small live plants in the kitchen, it will add a nice touch also. If you're on a budget, go to Dollar General, Family Dollar, or Dollar Tree, to buy what you need without spending a ton of money. Have fun!!!

go with bright colored assessories.........you can find stick on fruits or veggies or ivy to place on the cabinets.......then you can remove them.....

You can buy lots of brightly coloured accessories very cheaply - tea towels, storage jars, cups/ glasses etc. Either choose a couple of accent colours or go for a whole rainbow.
