You can get an artist's canvas, whatever size you want, or skip the canvas and paint a mural or abstract directly on the wall.

For paint, look into "oops" paint. It is paint that was special ordered for someone else who tried and didn't want it, and returned it. There is nothing wrong with the paint itself, it just wasn't what the customer had in mind, usually because of color.

The selection will be very random and the paint will likely be in small quantities. But you can buy enough colors to mix and match and make a very vibrant wall painting just as if you planned it that way if your design is flexible enough in regard to color. A stripe would be wonderful.

With lime green, you would be surprised how neutral it is, meaning it goes with a great many colors. And in nature (I know this because I used to camp a lot in the forest) it's actually hard not to blend in when wearing lime green. So you can go crazy, the green will actually marry a lot of different colors to each other. In small amounts, such as pinstripes or small swirls or polka dots or other abstract forms. You could use pinks, oranges, blues, yellows, or purples, for a striking but not blinding effect. The only color I would avoid is red or it will look too Christmassy. You could also use black and white.

I hope you find it fun and try not to make it too perfect, just get some colors on the wall.

You can also use oops paint to reenergize small pieces of furniture, trim of baseboards, crown molding, window framing, etc.

When you are done with that, some straight line sewing with remnant (cheap leftover) fabric will get you some throw pillows, maybe some curtains and table runners or chair pads and covers. You can do all kinds of small decorative projects with remnants. Then you can buy some small accessories like picture frames, candles, mirrors, storage and organizing containers.

Have fun with your room!

I recently painted my room a sage green. And I had this big blank wall behind the bed. I went to a wallpaper store and bought a wallpaper mural. It looks like you are looking out of a window into a lovely garden. So a wall mural made out of wallpaper and easy to install might be the answer. On the search line of Yahoo, put in: Wallpaper murals and you can see some great websites.
