Default What color should I paint my living/dining room?

My wooden doors and trim are all this orange-y brown stain color (cannot paint them a different color-trust me I've tried and tried to figure out how I could do it but it just isn't an option) What color could I paint my living/dining room to make it
a) look bigger
b) tone down the orange-y-ness of my trim and doors
c) warm and cozy and inviting
d) a subtle but noticeable change.
???????????????????????????????????????????
My Couch and Loveseat are dark blue and green colors with a little deep reddish pink and cream colors...
Carpet is cream but we are planning on putting hardwood floors in at the end of this summer...
Please help! I will look at any suggestions you give!
(I'm leaning toward a green color...maybe blue)
