Default Do you think a tinkerbell green w/ bubble gum pink are nice colors to paint a 15

year old girl's room? more... How can I make it edgier. It's going to be really girly but I want to make it a little more rock & roll. Edgier. The paint is bought and I cant return it. It just needs some edge. How can I do that??? Do you know of any places where I can buy gothic or cool furniture??? Anything cool will do. I need advice. The room is 12 x 11. I want to buy a new desk and vanity table. Also cool shelves and chairs.
She likes the colors but wants it more edgy.
She is sort of a scene chick. She likes some jpanese art and all rock music but she's still very girly.

I think that you should add some daring details. Like maybe exotic furniture, or a few artsy painting, and a few lava lamps thrown here and there.

If she is Gothic I would not advise Tinkerbell and bubble gum pink something more like black on silver with modern metal or black furniture. Shop around at different thrift stores and look for flashy things like fake skulls Anime pics, and or ancient looking decorative knives. Every teenager has a different idea about things like I am 17 and am going to decorate my room in an I Dream of Jeanie theme. Ask her opinion and see what she likes best and let her help out with the decorating she will be more proud of it and like it a lot better if you let her do it herself, or at least help out.

Consider buying black furniture. I think that will add a nice contrast to the green and pink, and tone everything down. Also use some black on picture frames, maybe a vase or something. The black will allow it to be girly yet add that edge that gives it a twist to her gothic side. Pier 1 has really nice black furniture, and their Modern Desk is really nice.

I don't think you can mix a gothic look with cheery pink and a settled lime green without it looking misplaced.

Here are some ideas that would be good:

Lift up the carpet and paint wood black and white checkers on the ground. If she ever outgrows it, all you have to do is put the carpet back down and get it stretched. This will complete the scene look, and checkers are a classy look to do. It also wouldn't look misplaced.

Or if you don't want to dare your house that much, paint a chair-rail of checkers and put the green under it and the pink on top. (which ever is a darker shade should be on bottom).

Bring in items that have pink and black on them. This fulfills that rock and roll look. Also, bring in some crome. This would complete your thought of rock and roll in a more vintage way,

This style actually reminds me of the shirt im wearing:

Would you ever consider painting something like the faces on the wall in the black and white with some silver accents. It would be VERY scene and edgy. Think how well the black and white with silver would go with the green and pink. If you dont think that, maybe you could make your own painting with black, silver, and white. It would look magnificant in the room.
