Default I have a big bubble in the ceiling wall-paper from a leak. Wood glue OK ??

The water/air in the bubble are gone now so I just need to put it back to the way it was. I have wood glue but that isn't very sticky. I was going to rip it off for christmas paper but I don't think landy would approve
I need instructions really.
Also the carpet above is abit wet - will towels do that ?
There is already a "seem" down the middle. That's how the water came out in the first place.
Will it be OK to use that ?
