Default home remodeling?
what is the best way to find a dependable contractor? also, is it better to pay per diem or per project?

Pay per project! Those guys know how to waste time if paying per diem. They will get with it if they are paid per project. Word of mouth is the best way to find a contractor. Ask at your local hardware store.
