Pain in the roof of my mouth?

Ok this is really weird but sometimes i get this pain in the roof of my mouth near the nasal pasage way in the back. It hurts to swallow and feels weird to move that area. What is that ive been curious to know? also, how can you get rid of that feeling in the course of a few hours?
