Default I have installed new vertical windows, what the h*ll do i do about an air

conditioner?
WHAT ARE LINERS?
HAS ANYONE PURCHASED THE PORTABLE AC, HOW IS IT?

i bought some liners and cut them down to size.I use the long for winter and the short ones for summer.It looks real nice and i get complements for that. I use 8 on mine.

You can purchase roll a round air conditioners now that you can put in any room anywhere. Try Home Depot or Lowes.

buy a casement window style or if you can pop the window out? you actually can turn it around and reinstall it to use for the "regular" air conditioner

See about getting extra slats for your vertical blinds. Cut the ones above the air conditioner off short. It won't look the best but at least you will be cool. You can put the long ones back on if you remove the air conditioner later.

I plan to cut into the wall, frame it soundly, and slide the machine in there instead. It's a hassle, but, like you, I'm amazed that so many window ACs are made and sold that won't fit into modern windows.
