Default how to get a finish carpentry job when moving out of state?

If my boyfriend and I were to move out of state, what would be the best way for him to get a job? He is a finish carpenter with 5 (at least) years of expierence... and he is great at what he does. Would he have to start calling up contractors and ask them if they're hiring? The only reason why I question this is because many don't even have websites. He needs a job before we leave!

Default Re: how to get a finish carpentry job when moving out of state?

I have recently been asked to come bid a job. The customer wants me to run an accent trim about three feet from the ground around the entire office. 4 - 5 rooms total. When I measured - I figured it would be about 1200 linear feet. He also wants me to convert two closets into walk in storage rooms with heavy duty shelving. He will pay for all of the materials, but how much do you charge for labor?
